ALC Donates Transportation for Aid to Haiti

La Canada Flintridge, Calif., May 30, 2008 -- The Allen Lund Company, a third-party transportation broker, donated the transportation of a water tanker and pick-up truck from Los Angeles to Fla. for Mission Haiti an outreach program at Holy Family Church, South Pasadena, Calif. "Mission Haiti is a great project that directly benefits the people there and we are proud to have been able to help Holy Family Church by providing transportation at various times since its inception," said Allen Lund, president and founder, Allen Lund Company.

water tanker directly helps Haitians by providing clean, healthy,
disease-free water," said Lund. "We congratulate
Monsignor Clement Connolly; Karl Holtsnider, parish administrator; and the Holy
Family Church staff and volunteers for their hard work and dedication--we are grateful for the opportunity to participate," concluded Lund.
Holy Family Church has been building friendships and offering hope to the people of Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Some statistics on Haiti: 80% of Haitians are Roman Catholic; Haiti is slightly smaller than Maryland with a population of 8,924,553 where 80% of the population live under the poverty line and 54% in abject poverty; the major infectious diseases in Haiti are: food or waterborne diseases, malaria, and leptospirosis, a water contact disease.
