Administrative Assistant
The primary responsibility of an administrative assistant is to assist the broker’s assistant and/or transportation brokers in the execution of daily operations: answer phones, assist in file settlement, A/P and A/R process, coordinate carrier applications, new vendor/carrier set-up, and other office administrative tasks. National Accounts Manager
National Account Managers are primarily outside salespeople and as such function highly independently. The majority of their time is spent in the field calling on potential and existing customers. Working directly with the sales offices in our transportation, logistics and international divisions, their primary responsibility is to grow our customer base through strategic targeting of accounts that are consistent with the business goals of their assigned unit.Success in this position requires excellent communication, presentation, and negotiating skills, as well as effective problem-solving ability with a strong customer service orientation. You must be highly self-motivated, goal driven, and have excellent time-management skills.
Management Positions
Our branch managers are located in our sales offices throughout the country with all corporate support services centralized at the company’s headquarters.The primary responsibility of our managers is the overall success of their assigned sales office; they function highly independently and are responsible for employee supervision, fiscal responsibilities, new customer acquisition, maximizing current customer base capacity, claims management, customer retention, teaming up with other branches on national accounts, etc.
Success in this position requires a dynamic, entrepreneurial team player, with the ability to multi-task in a very fast-paced environment, and excellent analytical, sales development, customer service, and employee motivational skills.
Accounting
The primary responsibility of our Accounting Department is to process Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables for the various sales offices. Each Accounting Representative is given responsibility for specific offices. The number of offices he or she represents varies according to the volume of the office and skill level of the representative.The Accounting Department handles a very high volume of paperwork. The environment is fast paced and requires a great deal of multi-tasking. Success in this position requires excellent organizational, good telephone and computer skills (Oracle, Word, Excel).
Information Technology
Our Information Technology (IT) Department manages the entire Allen Lund Company nationwide technical infrastructure, including web site development, transportation management system development and support, email system support, EDI and network infrastructure support and voice systems. Carrier Resources
The primary responsibility of a Carrier Resources Auditor is to review all carrier documentation to insure compliance with ALC policy, set-up new carriers in our system, maintain, and update carrier files.The Carrier Resources Department handles a high volume of paperwork within a fast paced and multi-tasking environment. To be successful in this department you must be highly organized, have excellent customer service and telephone skills, and be computer literate (Word, Excel, a must; Oracle-based database experience).
Finance
The Finance Department operates under the direction of our CFO. This department is responsible for managing all corporate finances, client accounts, corporate collections, as well as payables/receivables. This department mainly utilizes spreadsheet modeling for financial analysis.To be successful in this department you must be very detail-oriented, and possess strong organizational, analytical, and computer skills (Word, Excel, a must; Oracle-based database experience a plus).
Human Resources
Our Human Resources (H.R.) Department proactively develops and manages employee administration policies and procedures that allow the Allen Lund Company to retain our most valuable assets - our employees.These include compliance of all labor laws, employee recruitment, training and performance, benefits and compensation, and payroll services.
Success in this department requires a detailed individual with excellent communication skills, strong customer-service orientation, exceptional ability to resolve problems logically and effectively, and strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ADP, HRIS/Applicant Tracking systems).
Marketing & Communications
Our Marketing and Communications Department (MarCom) serves as the communication gateway for shippers, carriers and the community. Its responsibilities include the development of company collateral, trade convention planning, advertising, media relations, direct mail, web site, email campaigns and a myriad of internal and external communications.Succeeding in this department requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-task environment, and a great deal of organization, strong communication and computer skills (Word, Excel, Oracle a plus).
